Marquez won't seek doping tests for Pacquiao

MANILA, Philippines – Lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez said that he does not feel the need to ask Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao to undergo additional drug testing in preparation for their November 12 bout.
“We are not going to ask for additional tests,” Marquez told Examiner.com.
Pacquiao, the pound-for-pound king and congressman from the Philippines, has been hounded by allegations of drug use – mostly from Floyd Mayweather Jr., who refuses to fight Pacquiao without Olympic-style random drug testing.
Marquez did say that if Pacquiao has been using performance enhancing drugs, then the Filipino icon should feel bad for his victories because he had “unfair advantage.”
But the Mexican is focused on his own preparations.
“What I’m going to do is to prepare in the same manner as we’ve always done,” said Marquez. He adds that he has a doctor who will help him get to the 144-pound catchweight.
“I need to show up in excellent physical and mental condition.”
It will be the third meeting between Marquez and Pacquiao.
When the two first battled in 2004, Pacquiao knocked down Marquez three times in the first round, but Marquez still salvaged a draw.
